Happy St. Patrick's Day
I read in today's WSJ that a small domestic brewery - Dogfish Head Craft Brewery - is challenging Guinness on St. Patrick's Day. I mean c'mon, isn't anything sacred anymore? Does the ka-ching justify any foolish action?
Just ask yourself - Punk - what sounds the most genuine on St. Patrick's day when ordering your favorite brew at your local pub, a Guinness or a Dogfish?
Hmm, I wonder. Lemme think and ponder this tough question - NOT. There are some things in the world that there is no substitute for. Guinness is on the very top of that list. It has tradition, heritage and history. Guinness is in the core of our very existence. It's part of our soul. It's like mother and apple pie. You just don't mess with it!
But I say: Bring It On! Bring... It... On. [snapping his fingers from left to right to left, making a z across his face]
Cheers!

dude, you are so right. guinness is a living, liquid history and should not be messed with! reminds me of the time in Dublin when we went out to have a pint or two (starting in the wee hours of the morning) and ended the day with a number of guinnesses (guinnessi?) under our ever expanding belts. If i remember correctly, and believe me, things were a big foggy on that trip, you righteously recorded a new world record of guinness-swilling, insulting various bar-maids along the way, and losing my sunglasses.... ah yes, the squalid days of bachelorhood.
I am expecting you to take a break from all this slacking and get out to one, nay, may i say many!, good pubs and raise a toast to all of us toiling away at our desk jobs, sneaking a pint or two at lunch, and otherwise "working" really hard.
Guinness - for stregnth!

Guiness yesterday. Guiness today. Guiness tomorrow. Guiness forever. No brother can mess up with the big G. Peace.
