I, Slacker

The story of one man's brave journey from being a globetrotting internet professional to becoming a full-time slacker. It's about exchanging money for time, rediscover forgotten pleasures and enjoy the small (cubans & sportcars) and the bigger (the missus) things in life.

Siento Tranquilo

We are just back from a small dinner celebration. A very spontaneous, non-planned action which felt very rewarding. It put the P back in present. We tend, as humans, to focus too much on past and future, and too little on the present. Slacking is only about the present.

I had a single expresso on the way back. Reminded me of the days in Spain except for I got it in a paper cup and it was from Starbucks. We stopped by the book store and bought 'The Kite Runner'. Another spontaneous action, unforced and present.

The concept of time, space and content has really changed since I took time off. I'm much more patient, disciplined and restrictive which creates a focus and confidence that opens up for spontaneity. I know - it sounds like a lot of mumbo-jumbo but it feels darn good. And who cares how it sounds - I'm a slacker.
