C'mon Shake It Up Baby Now
I'm shaken but not d-sturbed. I can feel the energy coming back - slowly. The past few weeks have been very productive. I have attacked all kinds of DIY tasks around the house that the lack of time prevented me from doing in the past. It doesn't matter what level of sofistication we are living at, it's still very rewarding to do physical work.
It feels great to have gone from doing everything to nothing and now back to something. I wouldn't compare it to a days work but it's slowly getting there without getting in the way of doing nothing.
I actually have to restrain myself from doing more, just to spend the days as they were intended. Every morning I wake up and feel I should learn a new language, mountain bike California and run for president (in some obscure European nation). Well - if that ain't recovery I don't know what is.
My college buddy who is doing his PhD in Boston is here during this week and we plan to drive up Highway 1 to Point Reyes today. The sky is blue and I can already hear the roar of the engine as we accelerate through the curves along the coast.
