I, Slacker

The story of one man's brave journey from being a globetrotting internet professional to becoming a full-time slacker. It's about exchanging money for time, rediscover forgotten pleasures and enjoy the small (cubans & sportcars) and the bigger (the missus) things in life.

Día Uno: La Llegada

We arrived this morning after a very comfortable and well-planned trip (pad on shoulder). No incidents if you exclude the rumble with the elderly Argentinian gentleman who insisted that the numbers on the overhead bins are solely assigned to that pair of seats - i.e. his. Therefore I was under the pressure to move our carry-ons which he so graciously did himself faster than you could say "tronco". Well, we exchanged views, discussed, bumped torsos and finally agreed on a solution that would work for both of us. We parted with a smile and a handshake.

The missus and I started with a real Parrilla lunch right after check-in. Well, we actually had a rather nice breakfast by the pool before that but nothing compared to the meat we had at La Caballeriza in Puerto Madera. It was obviously paired with a bottle of Malbec from San Telmo Winery. Clearly made for men with chest hair and cojones.

After the meal, with the fall sun shining at about 75 degrees F we were both carefree and went for a stroll to El Centro and then back along the old harbour for a 2-hour, well-deserved siesta.

It's now time for a late dinner at Aires de Patagonia where we have booked a table in the smoking section so we can finish the day with a musty cigar. But before that the plan is to enjoy the culinary treats from the southern parts of Argentina.
